Fro Hawk

Tuesday was CRAZY HAIR DAY at school for Hema. He was dying for me to make his hair into a mohawk. The problem is the really tight curls in his hair aren't the best for standing straight up. After a lot of gel and hairspray and work with the blow dryer this is what we came up with. You've seen the faux hawks, well this was more of a fro hawk! It was so terrible I couldn't stop laughing. He was so happy with it, he couldn't stop smiling!
Posing for the camera!
Side view! He also wanted it to be colored red, which we obviously didn't do. I don't know where he comes up with his ideas!
Hema is also the Class Hero this week so here he is posing with his spotlight poster. He wanted to take the one we made last year because he liked it so much, but this time it needed to be smaller. So we reworked some of his favorite things off the old poster and some new stuff and in the end he was happy.

It is so much fun watching Hema learn and grow and seeing his fun and silly personality come out. We are so very grateful he is part of our family!

Happy Presidents Day!!

Cutest little presidents ever! (Cora was napping or we would have made a hat for her.)
And my sister Marilee came to town on Friday for a day and we got to see her for a few hours.
She is such a sweet aunt. My kids adore her!
We went to the Church Museum and let Vela play in the kids section.
Here she is in a little Mexican outfit that would have made Grandpa Hawkins proud!
And I parallel parked for the first time ever in my life! I never even did that in drivers ed! I might have cried a little in panic under the peer pressure of Mar and my mom trying to convince my to just try. It may not be perfect, but I had to document it for history since I'll probably never do it again!
And a picture Hema colored of himself! He loves anything thing art related right now and I love all the fun creations he makes!

Valentines Day... and then some!

Can I jut say that having kids really makes holidays so much more fun!
Little Hema was supposed to bring a box to school for his Valentines. He wanted an alligator mouth one. Of course my sweet husband was sure we could easily make one - I wasn't so sure. So when I saw this pinata at the party store, I quickly asked Little Hema what he thought and he loved it. I think we saved ourselves a lot of time and frustration for $9! Here he is with his valentines box and some of the candy leis for his classmates. I made 33 of those leis for his class party!
I had seen so many cute heart hair dos all over the Internet last year and thought I'd try one out on Vela. Somehow, I never got a picture of it yesterday so here are a couple of the hearts in her hair I took pictures of this morning. I can't wait until Cora has enough hair to do fun things with!
Looking a little fuzzy this morning!
My parents came by to visit and Hema and I took them up on their offer to watch the kids while went went out to lunch. Thanks mom and dad!!!

Then later these two love birds stopped by for a Valentines visit!
Cora has been pretty sad since she is teething the past couple of days, but she put on her happy face and showed off all sorts of fun tricks for them.
She giggled, laughed, jumped, climbed, clapped, threw toys, played peek a boo, crawled, stood up and bounced around on her knees! She had no interest in holding still for pictures!
 Beautiful girl!

Valentines is Vela's birth sister, Leiana's birthday. She turned 5 yesterday! We went to Incredible Pizza with them last week and had a lot of fun.
I had to post this picture of Leiana because how sweet is Vela's jumping dance move in the background!!
Vela loved Alysha, Chelise's new baby that is just 2 months younger than Cora.
Honestly this is the best picture I got of Leiana and Vela together.
Vela with Chelise, her beautiful birth mother.

And just for fun here are a couple of hats Hema made recently. In his reading class a Dr Seuss Hat
And for the 100th day of school this one
That ended up being a long post!

Sweet Sisters

Nothing makes my day more than hearing this over and over and over! Love these 2 sweet sisters playing together!
(And I should learn not to talk in my weird video taping mom voice on these videos...do I really sound like that?)
Cora will be 8 months old on Thursday. She is growing up way too fast! She is clapping, saying "dada" over and over (she started saying it last week), she also says "baba", she crawls everywhere and can stand up and cruise along the furniture, she lets go sometimes but can't really stand on her own yet, she can walk behind this cute little walker,
she is a great eater and sleeper, she is sweet and happy and perfect in every way and we are so very grateful to have her in our family!!!

I am so behind on blogging and have a million pictures to blog... but not tonight! :)
