Adoption on the Brain!!!

I seriously have adoption on the brain today! To start with, my dear friend and next door neighbor Tami and her husband Brian adopted this sweet little babe today! (You can check out Tami's blog on my sidebar under friends.) He is just 4 days old and is seriously sooooo sweet! I couldn't get enough of him tonight, luckily he is next door and I will get to hold him a lot more!! Congrats to your family Tami! Adoption is such a blessing!
Here's another shot of little Brevan. Check out those tiny feet!
It just warms my heart to know that sweet birth parents are making miracles like this happen. I love my children's birth parents. I am so grateful for them. I pray for them every day, many times a day. I pray for those birth parents that we haven't even met yet, that will bring more children into our family some day. I love them already. I really do. I can't wait to meet them, not just because I am so very ready for another little one to join our family. But also because these birth parents add so much to our life too. We love to talk to them, visit with them, get emails, send them goodies, send them photos, run into their family members, laugh or cry with them, get text messages from them, really anything! We just love them so much. It is interesting, I have said this before I am sure, but I never knew how much we would love the birth parents before experiencing adoption. I knew that we would be sooooo eternally grateful. It goes way beyond gratitude. There is a bond that words can not express. I feel it strongest for our own birth parents, but I feel a measure of it for all birth parents. Tonight I am especially praying for Shiann (Brevan's birth mother). Please pray for her too!

Another reason I have adoption on the brain is that LDSFS (our adoption agency) finally launched the new www.itsaboutlove.org website!! It is new and improved and should be a great resource for adoptive families and birth families alike. There are some awesome links to talk to real birth mothers, counselors, search families by your choice of criteria, find all sorts of cool resources and much, much more! We are on there, you can click on the heart below to see our profile, along with many, many other wonderful families - all hoping to grow their families through adoption. Check the site out! It is amazing! And if you know anyone that may need some support or information regarding adoption, now you know right where to send them.

Adoption is such a miracle, it really is and I know that the Lord's hand is in this work. Yet I still find it hard to be patient and just wait some days. Then I just scoop up my 19 month old, giggly, cuddly, sweet little girl and kiss her big sweet lips about 10,000 times more before tucking her into bed. And then I pick up my tall, smart, curly haired, brown eyed, nearly 4 year old boy and sing to him and rock him to sleep and remember that I am so very blessed and that for now they are enough!!
