A Little Recap

Life has been a little busy and I haven't had a second to sit down and blog. So here is a little recap of the highs and lows lately!

HIGH: We took the kids over to TGP and drove through their holiday lights. It is certainly not the greatest light display in the world, but it is less than 5 minutes from home, we can go in our PJ's since we don't have to get out of the car, we let the kids sit on our laps up front (they love taking turns driving) and it is only $4 with our membership. I'm sure we'll go again a few times before Christmas!
LOW: This weekend I went to grab something from the chest freezer in the garage and it wasn't frozen. EVERYTHING in there was a loss! I was so sad to throw away hundreds of dollars of food - mostly meat. What a bummer! The worst part is we figured out that we had put something right against the vent several weeks ago and that is why it wasn't working! Oh well, live and learn. Hopefully you can learn from our mistake and give your freezer some space!

HIGH: Saturday was the sealing of my sweet neighbor and friend Tami to her baby Brevan. Honestly, there isn't much that can compare to a sealing of a baby! Such an incredible experience! Congrats Tami and Brian!

LOW: Saturday Vela turned 2 years and 2 months. The reason that is a low is because Hema and Vela are exactly 2 years and 2 months apart. I love how well they interact and what great buddies they are. They aren't super close in age, but are close enough to really play well together. I wonder how long we will wait for our next sweet angel to join our family? What will the gap between Vela and the next one be? I try to just relax and have faith, but sometimes I really just wish I had a little more control over these things. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE adoption and am at peace with the path our babes take to get here - I just wish I could hurry it along!

HIGH: The Hawkins Family Christmas Party was tonight! It is always so much fun. It was at John and Rillas house. My Uncle John might get a little frustrated with our lack of chime playing skills, but I think he secretly loves it as much as the rest of us do! Of course we also played BINGO and had stack ups! It is always so fun to get together with my uncles and aunts and cousins and all of their spouses and kids. We missed grandpa tonight, he had a bad fall earlier today and stayed home with my mom.
LOW: Little Hema has suddenly changed his mind about what he wants for Christmas (a tiger striped batman action figure he saw online with his dad months ago). Hema and I spent 4 hours looking for it online and apparently no longer exists for sale. We are desperately trying to brainwash him into wanting what we already have wrapped and ready to go for Christmas. Hopefully he will still have a magical Christmas!

HIGH: I have worked a few shift for Cultural Hall over at our Costco over the past couple of weeks in trade for a few pictures I have been eyeing. Although I missed my hubby and kids, it was just a few hours and I am really excited for my pictures to come. I ordered a cool picture of the Mt. Timp temple and a couple of others. Here is my favorite. It is by Joseph Brickey and of the Stripling Warriors entitled "They did not doubt."
HIGH: No one at our house is sick at all! (Knock on wood) And I am hoping we can keep it that way through the end of the year!

LOW: I haven't sent my Christmas cards out yet!

HIGH: Ginnie finished editing our family pictures and they are on their way via the mail. I can't wait to see them and hurry and get my Christmas cards mailed!

Well, that's about it for tonight! Tomorrow is the Neighborhood Ladies Christmas Party here. Can't wait! Oh and later this week the Branch Christmas Party and Dance! Love this time of year!

Hi Becky! I just wanted to say thanks for the recipe on Monday. I'm going to try it for tomorrow.

Also, I actually (now) love the space (5 yrs.) between our two kids...but I don't know it any other way.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
