Happy Fathers Day!

I am so very grateful for the amazing fathers in my life. Just want to talk briefly about some of them:
My own dad He is very patient and loving and humble and has taught me so much throughout my life. I remember from the time I was a young girl, always feeling safe when he was around. He is a big man - very tall - and I always knew that he could protect me. I remember when I arrived in Brazil on my mission and I was so home sick and struggling with the language and culture - I wanted so badly to just talk to my dad. I knew that if he told me I would be fine and everything would be ok - then it would. He has always been the voice of reason in my life and even though I am 100% certain that I gave him a run for his money through my teenage years, I always knew that he loved me and knew what was best for me. When I was looking for my own husband, I wanted to marry someone who would treat me like my dad treated my mom. Love you dad!!

My other dad (Hema's dad) I always joke that I married Hema because of his dad, but it really is true. I knew that Hema would be like his dad and his dad rocks! He is so very faithful to his mother and is a kind and gentle voice with his children. He leads by example in every way. he has always treated me as one of his own daughters and I love him very much! I am so blessed to have such amazing in-laws. Especially having married into a very different culture, I am lucky to be so loved by my husbands family. I truly love my other dad!

Our children's birth fathers It has been an amazing experience to get to know some of our children's biological fathers. Some we have met, others we have not. We love them all - for giving the gift of life to our sweet children. We honor their names and teach our children to be grateful for them. We pray for them and wish for every good thing for them. Were it not for them, we would not be parents today - we love them!

My Sweetheart Hema is such an incredible father. I knew he would be a great father long before I ever even considered marrying him. I had seen him be helpful, kind, patient and sacrifice for those around him. Part of why I wanted to marry him, was because of they type of father I knew he would be. Hema is an example to me of how to be a better parent. He loves our children so very much and would do anything for them. Little Hema said it all this morning when he said, "Mom, you are the best mom ever - but dad is still way better than you!" I can't feel one ounce bad about hearing that because it is the truth! He is the best and I hope you have a amazing fathers day sweetie!

I bet you are wondering why no pictures are posted......well, our computer decided to die on Friday and so between needing a new computer, fathers day and my birthday we finally justified buying the MAC that we have been wanting for the past several years! We have it all set up, but haven't had a chance to figure out how to upload pictures to it yet. And of course are still waiting to get all the info off the old computer onto here. But just visualize tall, dark and handsome and you'll be thinking of Hema!

Oh, and stay tuned......hoping to have a big post tomorrow!!!!!
