Oh what a Christmas!

This past holiday was quite the eventful time for our family. The weekend prior to Christmas our little Hema had a stomach bug and woke up several nights vomitting. Poor little guy! He was also exposed to the Chicken Pox so he was under close observation with mom doing the daily full body check and analyzing every bump and scratch. Needless to say we put him on quarentine and wouldn't let him go to church that Sunday (which he was not very happy about). The saga just gets better...while dad was getting ready for church our little Vela became fussy and her temperature began to climb. We called our pediatrician and he instructed us to meet him at the office immediately. So Becky took Vela to the doctor and Hema got to stay and monitor the little vomitting boy. Vela's doctor was worried that she might have Meningitis so he did a spinal tap and instructed us to admit Vela to the hospital. We spent the next 2 nights in the hospital while tests were being done. The spinal tap came back clean, so no Meningitis. Hooray! But the tests came back and little Vela had a bad urinary infection. She is on antibiotics and we have an appointment at Primary Children's Hospital to check on her kidneys. We were released from the hospital Christmas evening and actually made it up to some of the Katoa family festivities.

Oh Becky, I am so happy things are ok with your little ones! How scary to be in the hospital with a new baby. I had read on Jessica's blog about Vela being in the hospital and have been wondering what was wrong. Your beautiful family is very blessed. BTW, who was the nurse from our ward? Happy (healthy) New Year!

Spending holidays in the hospital STINKS! I am so glad she is well now. She is sure a cutie!
