Vela is 3!!

Okay so Vela's birthday was actually on Tuesday - but our Internet was being switched and not working all day and then I got busy and now I am finally getting around to blogging about her festivities. Ha!

Vela has been really excited for her birthday for the past 2 months, ever since Hema turned 5. She would plan it out each day and had some pretty strong ideas of what she was going to do. Hema, Little Hema and me have all spent the last 2 months trying to convince her to do something we thought would be more fun than what she had planned. She wanted to go to the dinosaur museum, but since we go there so much - we thought it would be better to do something different. Hema thought she should go to Trafalga, Little Hema desperately tried to convince her to go to Chuck E Cheese and I knew she would love the zoo. But in the end, she stuck to her guns and we ended up at the dinosaur museum.
My kids love to play at the Erosion Table.
Then we tried to convince Vela to eat anywhere good, but she wanted McDonalds. I don't even think it's the food - it's the play place she likes. (It kinda grosses me out so I tried to get out of there pretty quickly!)
Then we went home and had cake and opened presents. Little Hema chose Vela's cake.
She was thrilled with it and ready to blow out her 3 candles.
Check out those lips!
Glad I caught this picture! Copying Ariel with her fork!
Do you notice a theme here? I didn't actually try and plan everything to be little mermaid, it just worked out that way. Vela is completely OBSESSED with Little Mermaid right now. Can you guess what she is going to be for Halloween?
Then she wanted to go take a bath so that she could play with her mermaid dolls in the water. I think it was a perfect day for our sweet girl!

On Wednesday Vela had her 3 year checkup. Here she is with Dr Pavich.
She was 37 pounds (92%) and over 40 inches (above the 97%). She is such a beautiful and sweet girl and we are so grateful that she is part of our family!
