Summer Isn't Over Yet!

This summer has been a blast! The best thing is that there are still a couple of weeks ahead. We love having so much time to spend with each other and wouldn't trade it for anything. Last week we drove by the Steel Days celebration in American Fork and little Hema saw the carnival rides being set up. He wanted to ride so bad, but the carnival didn't start for 2 days...the count down was on. The next couple days little Hema would wake up and ask "Are the rides fixed now?" When the day finally arrived we spent the entire day there with little Hema taking advantage of his all-day pass. There were barely any lines during the day and little Hema would hop off the rides, run around, get in line, and get right back on. Little Hema got smart and started asking the ride person if he could just go again and didn't have to even get off. Dad and Hema made friends with the roller coaster guy and he would let Hema just ride nonstop until someone else got in line. Little Hema begged Becky to go on the ferris wheel with him and when she got to the top she said "this is a little scary" and Hema's reply was "no it's not!" Little Hema even wanted to go on the adult rides. He wasn't tall enough for most of them but was able to go on a few.

Last night we went to the Cultural Celebration at the Gallivan Center downtown Salt Lake. We visited the booths and watched a fire knife dancer. While we were up there, we ran into sweet Katie (Hema's birth mom) and it was so fun to see and talk to her. After looking at all the booths we rode Trax to the Gateway and had dinner, then returned to watch the fireworks. The show started at 10 o'clock but both the kids were awake and loved it!

Happy Pioneer Day everyone, we are off to the parade!
