We took a little trip this past weekend. It was wonderful and relaxing. We headed to St George first. The weather was hot (106) but we had fun swimming and watching Tarzan at Tuacahn.
Little Hema loves to hold and kiss Cora. He is such a great older brother.
Hema, dad and Vela had a great time swimming. Mom and Cora hid in the shade. It was way too hot for a 1 month old baby to be outside during the day!
After swimming everyone needed a nap!
We just can't get enough of this little cutie!
This isn't the best picture, but here we are at Tuacahn. We all loved the show!!
Little Hema was hesitant to get too close to any of the actors. He kept reassuring himself that they weren't real - just costumes. They are pretty creepy up close!
Krychele was in St George so we met up for breakfast.
Cora got to meet Krychele's cousin Alli. She was glad to finally meet Cora. She had come up to Salt Lake before Cora was born, but had to leave before she was born since Cora was born 12 days past her due date.
Then we headed off to Las Vegas - where is was hotter!!! 113 degrees is way too hot!
But it was worth it to spend time with good friends from my freshman year at BYU. Mari, Dima and I hadn't been together since Hema sealing 4 1/2 years ago. This picture was taken at about 2:00 in the morning. We really felt as tired as we look - we decided we are too old to stay up all night talking.
Our kids all got along great and had so much fun playing together.
We were so glad that Mari has a pool. We all had so much fun swimming!
This is a shot before church on Sunday. Liliana, Noah, Paul, Dalia, Hema, Vela and Gaby. (Benjiman and Cora didn't make the shot!)
Monday morning we were out the door bright and early. We decided we better hit the road before it got too hot! We met Krychele again for breakfast. This time at the Bear Paw - yummm! And then we headed home. When we got back we heard that my grandfather, David Henry Hawkins, wasn't doing well and I feel so blessed that I was able to go visit him on Monday evening. He passed away on Tuesday. He was such an amazing man and so handsome!
I can't even imagine the joy he felt as he was reunited with his eternal sweetheart - my grandmother Vela and his dear mother Cora. Yes, I did name my girls after the two most important women in his life. Certainly he is rejoicing in heaven with them now! I am so very grateful for his example and that our family is sealed for eternity!!!

So sorry to hear about your grandpa. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Sorry to hear about your grandpa. I just returned today from Vegas and St. George too. We saw Tarzan and I absolutely loved it. Good times.
