Today was a crazy, busy, fun day! We fed the missionaries, got our family pictures taken (loved the photographer - can't wait to see the pictures in a couple of weeks!), attended a High Priest service activity and dinner with our branch and I finally made the cape I've been wanting to do for little Hema while watching Star Trek on DVD. I really am not a Trekkie (not sure how that is spelled), but I must say I liked the movie. I think Redbox is one of the greatest inventions ever! I am happy with the way the cape turned out and relieved to have it done. I know that Hema will love it - he's getting it for Christmas. I didn't want to use felt for the symbols (Batman on one side and Superman on the other). I like the fabric I used better - although it took a while to make.
The cape I used as a pattern had red fabric for the Superman, so I went with it too. I wish I would have done blue because my S is more like the real symbol and so it is outlined in red. But seriously Hema won't care and I am not starting over!
I think I'll try to get Vela's done tomorrow evening.

I think I'll try to get Vela's done tomorrow evening.I thought I'd share a funny conversation with Little Hema in the car today about adopting a baby.
Hema: Now that I'm getting so big, who wants another baby?
Daddy Hema and I: Me!
Hema: Me too. When are we going to get one?
Me: I don't know we have to wait and see.
Hema: Well I think we need to get it from Katie's tummy - like me.
Me: Hema, Katie doesn't have a baby in her tummy.
Hema: Well, we just need to cut her open and put one in there and sew her up and then when the baby is all done growing, cut her open and take it out. Then we'll have another baby like me.
Me: So that is how babies get in tummies?
Hema: Yep, how else would they get in there?
How I love his innocence. Katie did have a C-section and so we did explain how he came out when he asked. I love how he just reasoned that is how that baby gets in there too. We of course had to explain to him that Katie is not going to have another baby for us - even though she makes a dang cute kid!
