Belly, Egg Hunt, Shower and Tent

Vela seems to be back to her herself. I am amazed at how quickly children seem to recover.
This picture of Vela's belly on Thursday - 2 days after surgery. It is still a little swollen, but you can see where he cut right into the belly button. It looks so much different that the picture showing the hernia.
I took the kids to an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. They had a great time. Hema got a ton of eggs and Vela got one. I kept telling her to pick up the eggs and she would show me the one in her basket. It was pretty funny. I didn't force her to get more, because really who need the candy!
Here they are with the Easter Bunny afterwards. Vela is usually really freaked out by costumed creatures, but she loved the bunny.

Then on Saturday afternoon we had a bridal shower for Hema's cousin La'a.
It is always fun to get together with he Katoa family! They really know how to have fun.
I procrastinated making an Easter treat for the Primary until late last night. I had gotten all the stuff together earlier, but not really thought they would take very long to put together. I regretted putting them off when I finally finished making them all at 2:00 AM.
Excuse the bad photo, it was late and dark by then! I made one for every man, woman and child in the Primary and nursery. (Thanks for the cute tag Marilee!)Here are the kids ready for church this morning. Vela has been wearing that hat since she was 6 months old. I just can't get enough of her tan little face in the bright pink! Showing her cute orange clogs!

We have been wanting to get a Spring Bar tent for several years. I just couldn't bring myself to pay full price and buy the tent I really want. They are soooo much money. Don't get me wrong, I know that they last forever, that is why I want one, but the one I love is over $1,000 even the small ones are around $500. Ouch!! We have been through 3 tents in our 12 years of marriage and between us camping a lot and family and church borrowing them, they all are torn and we really need a new one again. I have looked consistently (nearly every day) on KSL.com for over 2 years now and probably called on over 50 tent listings. They are always either sold before I call, really trashed or way more than I can afford. Last night I hit the jackpot! I got a call back from a lady I had left a message for earlier in the week. She had bought her tent and only ever used it once! We rushed up to Bountiful at 8:00 PM and set it up in the dark to make sure everything was there! We bought it for a great price and I can't wait to go camping!!

Here is what we got. It has a big window in the back too. We paid a fraction of the new price and it is more that sufficient for our family. If we ever outgrow it (you know like when we adopt triplets someday - hey a girl can dream!!) we could easily sell if for more than we paid for it and upgrade. We used to go on our first camping trip of the year for Hema's birthday every March, but now with kids, it is way too cold to go this early. Hurry up warm weather so we can go camping!

Vela's outfit is absolutely adorable. Her little tan face looks cute in every color... especially the bright colors!

I love the tent. Good work!

Love, love, love Vela's outfit. Did you make that skirt? If not, where did you get it? Rachel would love it. "Twirly skirt" as she would say.
