... so I guess I'll blog. Hema is gone tonight. He is camping with the scouts. Probably freezing his hind end off, it did snow today. But you know how guys are - I'm sure he and the scouts are still having a blast. I stopped by the campsite early this evening and dropped off cocoa and french bread for them. Mostly because I wanted to see him again tonight. I really miss him, especially when he is gone at night. It's nearly 2:00 am which is way past my bedtime, but I have a hard time falling asleep without him here. Are you the same way??
The kids and I had pizza for dinner, read some books and watched Land Before Time. Then I got them ready for bed and tucked them in. They've been asleep for hours.
I tried to go to sleep myself, but then got up after about 30 minutes and did 3 loads of laundry, baked 2 chocolate sheet cakes for a bridal shower tomorrow, cleaned the kitchen, spent nearly an hour on facebook, tried to sleep again, started updating my food storage inventory and a bunch of other waste time things. I know I'll get really tired and fall asleep about an hour before the kids wake up. Oh well.
I remember when we first got married and Hema would be gone a lot for football. Even when they had home games they slept at a hotel the night before the game. I couldn't sleep then either. I remember thinking is was so funny, I had slept alone for 25 years and then all the sudden I needed him there to go to sleep. My little apartment was really clean during those football months! I would just stay up and clean and clean.
Well, I guess I'll got finish updating the food storage inventory. I have been trying to make sure I have all of our emergency stuff ready to go. I updated the 72 hours kits, restocked my 12+ months of all the non-food items (tp, medicines, tampons, diapers, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.) and have been double checking to make sure we have at least 12 months of food. I know that we are short on fuel if there was an emergency. We would need more ways to heat the house and cook the food. That is next on my list. I guess with all the earthquakes around the world lately, I have just felt even more motivated to have everything ready just in case! I plan on doing a couple preparedness posts one of these days with some of the lists I have found and such. Oh, and I am taking a class to get my ham radio license on April 17th. If all else fails - Jessica and I will be able to talk in an emergency! (She got her license a bit ago.)
Okay, I am really leaving the computer now!

At least you're productive when you can't sleep!
Rick and Summer are going to take a ham radio class this month. It will count for school and personal progress for YW. Then you can talk to them, too. I enjoy reading your blog and I am impressed with your accomplishments--especially when you can't sleep!
